First thing to check off the list

WHOLE30

Today I have started the Whole30. For those who don't know what I am talking about....its a serious diet. Its a diet based on only organic whole foods. A lot of meat surprisingly. I went to the grocery store this morning and bought
  • pomegranates
  • lemons (my favorite thing...EVER)
  • cucumber
  • apples
  • bananas
See the problem with a couple of items I got? haha yes, they are all fruity. However, I am currently eating steamed broccoli. The Whole30 is going to be a huge challenge for me and I am a little worried. Wish me good luck these next few weeks, I am determined to lose a couple pounds and to really work on my running.

New Year Resoutions.

Every year the most popular New Years resolution is to lose weight. I would have to say it's probably not the best resolution but certainly not say the worst. Probably because it's most likely the most popular for being said then done. I can say that I am one of many who say "this year I will lose weight" and within a few days I am scarfing down a few cookies while making myself a bowl of ice cream.
I am definitely one who struggles when I try something by myself but this year I'm not alone. My mother, Amy, is watching her calorie intake.  My older sister, Hannah, is not only eating healthy and working out but plans to make a life style change. My boyfriend, Mason, has cut his calorie intake by more than half of what it used to be.
It really helps when you have people who are in the same boat as you. That's why I'm writing this blog, you can never have too many people who are supporting you and vise versa.  Whether it's losing weight or you need a little more motivation with reaching a goal. Plus, what's more motivating than letting the whole world know what you plan on doing. There expecting it, so don't give up.

My top 10 New Years Resoltions (no order)
~lose 42lbs
~red bikini
~half marathon/dirty dash
~50 real push ups
~tight dress
~build confidence
~run in a sports bra in public
~try clean eating for 30 days
~15 pull ups

Here's to 2016! 🍾

Katy Perry

KATY PERRY
Katy Perry. I love her and I know that she must be an idol to many more adults and teens out there than just me. She is literally one of the best musical artists out there. Katy Perry grew up in a strict home with parents that are pastors that travel to spread their beliefs and she wasn't aloud to listen to anything but christian music.  But not soon after sneaking out and listening to the radio did Katy Perry find her passion for Pop Music and writing it.

Right after she signed with Capitol Records in 2008 later that year she came out with the Album One of the Boys. That Album carried the songs, "I Kissed a Girl", "Hot n Cold", "Thinking of You" and, "Waking Up in Vegas" making her a hit. Katy Perry has been nominated for 187 awards and has won 60 others. She is such an inspiration to many people out there. She writes all of her songs and they relate to her own life. Let alone most of her songs are uplifting and encouraging songs that tell us to never give up. She one musical artists that I can relate too and that has personal connection with all of her songs. She is someone that I'll always look up too and someone that I will inspired by for a really long time.

New Place, New Home, Same Family

Since my father passed away my family had to stay in separate houses, until our new one was built for 8 months. Recently we all moved in and it's just awesome and fun! I miss everyone! Crazy house of 8 kids living at home but I've missed the craziness and the adventurous, outgoing family we are! (:

Today, Savannah, Britton, my Mama, and I went to Walmart just to shop for normal groceries! Right as we got there I hopped in one of the stores carts (by the way, painful! How do little kids do it?!) planning to hop out of it but....
Obviously they didn't happen! They just started putting cereal, snacks, and MEAT  on me...yuck! As I sat in the cart with my body in pain and my feet asleep, while Savannah and Britton made me do "wheelies" in the cart, I wondered what are people thinking of us? A 16 year old in a cart being pushed by her mom and littler sisters? Some people gave us weird looks while others laughed and told me it looked fun. It was (: I enjoy and miss my family and I don't care how weird and crazy we look/are. It's us and I love it.

New Place, New Home, Same Family (: Hello new home, welcome us Domgaards!(:

Taco Seasoned Chicken, Bean Burritos

Taco Seasoned Chicken, Bean Burritos

  • 2 cans of Beans (Pinto or Black)
  • 2 slices of Bacon
  • 3/4 cup cilantro
  • 2 slices of Chicken
  • Corn Torillas (any Tortillas)
  • Taco Seasoning
  • Sour Cream
  • Shredded Cheese

Last night we made Bean, Chicken Burritos. DELICIOUS! This is Kasey's recipe. We started by taking the 2 pieces of bacon and cut them into small pieces and place them in a pan to fry and cook. After they were cooked we put in 2 cans of beans and added a handful of cilantro, set there to boil. While the beans were set to boil we cut up 2 pieces of chicken and sprinkled the taco seasoning over them. After they were seasoned we added oil to the fry pan and cooked the chicken. While the food was cooking, I warmed up corn tortillas. When it was all done cooking we rolled up the burritos, topping it with cilantro, cheese, and sour cream!

Basil Spaghetti with Cheese Broiled Tomatoes

Today, I needed to decide what I was going to make for this week and all the recipes! So, thank you again to the wonderful all amazing Pinterest. I am also grateful for you! (; I searched through Pinterest and ever since last summer when I went down to Arizona to see my Aunt Gagen, I have been a sucker for anything tomato and basil. So I found a recipe for just that! Basil Spaghetti with Cheese Broiled Tomatoes. I liked it, it  was pretty good. I followed the recipe, but in the end I had extra Mozzarella cheese so I added that to the pasta which gave it a little more flavor, & instead of using Olive Oil I used Sunflower Oil, I think it gave it a whole different taste...but dang! The tomato & cheese was my favorite part and was very good. I recommend this recipe.

I'm excited to try all the other recipes I found and I hope you guys read this and try some of these recipes out!
